This Really Made My Day

I was listening to the radio while I work late, and Annie Lennox singing "Missionary Man" in a blues style came on.

Radio Paradise online is still delivering the goods for those of us who habitually work late. I wish Bob Parlocha were still around, too. Best late-night bebop on the radio. His playlists wailing through my little waterless cabin in Fairbanks late into the night and the next morning helped me through years of double-loads at the University of Alaska Fairbanks when I was a student.

Anyway, this version of the Eurythmics song is good, and it really made my day, so I thought I would share it with my friends through the APDS blog.

Of course, I can't share anything about Annie Lennox without sharing one of my favorite black-and-white photos. I'm a pretty passionate film photographer and darkroom rat, especially regarding high-contrast black-and-white images.

Dem's the rules. Maybe I'll write some more about photography later. It's something I love.

Anyway, the music is below the amazing photo taken by Robert Mapplethorpe. I hope it makes your day, too, my Friend.

Annie Lennox as captured by Robert Mapplethorpe. It's a brilliant photograph.

To this absolutely brilliant piece of singing:

It always enthuses me to see someone practicing the art they are passionate about.

(I honestly have absolutely no intention to. It's kind of a jerk thing to do.)
